On 12th and 13th March 2022, Michałów State Stud had the immense pleasure of welcoming the members of Polish Arabian Horse Breeders Association who gathered for the XXVI General Meeting of PAHBA. Early Saturday afternoon was spent on discussing the completion of tasks assigned to the Association this year as well as confirming the schedule for shows and sport events planned for 2022.
After the discussion, the attendees had a great opportunity to hear two extremely interesting lectures. The research team consisting of Monika Stefaniuk-Szmukier, PhD. Eng. and prof. Katarzyna Ropka-Molik, PhD. Eng. from the Department of Animal Molecular Biology of National Research Institute of Animal Production presented the findings of modern genetics in Arabian horse breeding, while Alicja Poszepczyńska, MSc, the judge of ECAHO sport classes for many years, discussed the rules and regulations of the more and more popular “Pleasure” classes.
The presentation of breeding stallions currently standing at Michałów State Stud as well as the 2022 foals born so far added splendor to the meeting. On a sunny Sunday morning, the broodmares with this year’s foals were presented next to one of the stables. A large group of 42 foals by FORMAN, WARES, EL OMARI, PARIS, MORION, AJ AZZAM, GANGES, PIAFF, HAASH OSB and DOMINIC M met with great interest and appreciation from the spectators. After the foals, there came a time for the chief sires currently standing in Michałów. Firstly, the stallions that belong to Michałów State Stud were presented to the public, including FORMAN, EDMUND, DONG, PTOLEMEUSZ, ZŁOTY MEDAL, EL OMARI and EMPIRE, followed by the chestnut ERANTIS, leased from Janów Podlaski State Stud, and the grey AJ AZZAM, bred and owned by Ajman Stud, standing for his second and final season at our stud.
Unforgettable impressions and atmosphere of the event were skillfully captured by Karolina Misztal. We cordially invite you to have a look at the photo gallery.
