On May 17th, 2023, the mare Palmira passed away peacefully in her stall. An iconic mare, one of the last great daughters of Monogramm who was leased to Poland during 1993-1994. Palmira’s dam was the grey Palestra by Penitent.
Every lover of Michałów Stud has heard of Palmira. Those who saw her in the rings remember how she flew in motion, with her head proudly raised and her mane flowing.
Palmira was the star of many shows. Her most important titles include:
World Senior Champion Mare – Paris 2003,
All Nations Cup Senior Mare Champion – Aachen 2003,
Polish National Senior Champion Mare and Best in Show – Janów Podlaski 2007.
Palmira is also a multiple class winner at national and international shows.
Her show career did not prevent her from being a great stud mare. She gave birth to 7 foals at her home stud, including Pistoria by Gazal Al Shaqab, sold in 2015 for 625,000 Euro and Parmana by Al Maraam, the dam of Parmania (by Kahil Al Shaqab) and Ptolemeusz (by Złoty Medal), who in 2022 was chosen Polish National Senior Champion Stallion.
Palmira’s show and breeding achievements were honored in 2010 with the WAHO Award.
Palmira lived with us for 28 years. We will miss her very much.
