The excitement caused by the Arabian Horse Days has not yet subsided, and yet another show is already behind us, from which we return with a haul of medals – this time, the competition moved to the Czech capital, where the Prague Intercup 2026 took place on 22–23 August.
The first of the Michałów horses to compete was the two-year-old ZAZZERA (KA Nabras (AE) – Zigi Zana / QR Marc (US)), who, after a mediocre performance, finished in 7th place with a score of 89.8 points; however, in the very next class, her stablemates gave us plenty of reasons to be pleased. EPIFORANA (Mutabahi Al Hawajer (AE) – Espana / QR Marc (US)) securely took first place with a score of 92.2 points, with ZANELLA (Mutabahi Al Hawajer (AE) – Zigi Zara / Shanghai E.A (ES)) close behind, having been awarded 91.5 points for her performance.
Our one-year-old DIAREN (Morion – Dianora / Vitorio TO (US)) also made his debut in international show rings last weekend, taking second place in his class with a score of 89.8 points, which qualified him for Sunday’s championship. In the two-year-old colts’ class, DYTWIN (Morion – Dama Róż / Vitorio TO (US)) took third place with a score of 90.85 points.
Sunday’s competition began with the class for 4–6-year-old mares. Following a phenomenal performance in the movement test, which earned her a full set of 20-point marks, the grey mare WILDONARA (Paris – Wildona / Shanghai E.A (ES)) took second place with a score of 92.3 points. In the same class, ELEGANTIA (AJ Azzam (DE) – Ellissima / Albedo) came fifth with a score of 91.0 points.
In the next class, the bay mare PROTEKCJA (Ekstern – Pentra / Poganin), returning to the show rings after a break, took second place, receiving three maximum marks – 1×20 for conformation and 2×20 for movement.
Another excellent performance this year came from the six-year-old EL BRILLO (Morion – El Larinera / Empire). He finished second in his class with a score of 91.05 points.
The newly crowned Polish Senior Stallion Champion also rose to the occasion – PTOLEMEUSZ (Złoty Medal – Parmana / Al Maraam) won his class convincingly, securing his place in the championship.
The first medals for the Michałów Stud were won by the increasingly successful EPIFORANA – she won the Silver Medal in the International Cup show, before adding a Gold Medal and the title of Junior Mare Champion at the European Cup show to her collection.
Further medals at the European Cup show were won by the senior mares – WILDONARA was awarded the Silver Medal and the prize for Best Movement in the mares’ category, whilst PROTEKCJA took the Bronze Medal, finishing just behind her on the podium.
Our stallions did not disappoint us in the Senior Stallion Championship either – in the International Cup show, PTOLEMEUSZ won the Silver Medal, ahead of the Bronze Medallist, EL BRILLO. In the European Cup show, the Michałów stallions gave their rivals no chance and brought home the Gold and Silver Medals respectively.
This successful start of the international show season motivates us to put in more weeks of hard work in order to prepare as well as possible for the increasingly difficult challenges that lie ahead!
