On the 22nd-25th August, a whole series of shows under the joint name of Prague Intercup took place at the Wielka Chuchla racetrack on the outskirts of Prague. The show has been held there since 2020, on a wonderfully prepared arena with a quartz going.
Horses bred at Michałów Stud competed in the A-class show, which began on Saturday afternoon with the junior classes.
Results of junior horses after class competitions:
- Perlita (Erantis – Pustynia Kahila/ Kahil Al Shaqab) – 3rd in the yearling fillies class (section A)
- El Cortinada (Erantis – El Larinera/ Emprire) – 5th in the yearling fillies class (section B)
- Wildonara (Paris – Wildona/ Shanghai E.A.) – 2-letnich 3rd in the two year old fillies class (with a score of 91,06 pts).
- Elegantia (AJ Azzam – Ellissima/ Albedo) – 6th in the two year old fillies class
- Partes (Dominic M – Protekcja/Ekstern) – 3rd in the yearling colts class (section A)
- Egner (Prometeusz – Emdrona/Medalion) – 2nd in the yearling colts class (section B)
On Sunday, the next scheduled classes began, this time for senior mares and stallions. Four mares came from Michałów to compete with international horses for the titles of the most beautiful ones. It is worth noting that all the senior mares received scores above 91 points, and their results were as follows:
- El Mariella (Morion – El Marina/ Ganges) – 3rd in the 4-6 year old mares class (with a score of 91,38 pts)
- El Medida (Morion – El Medara/ Shanghai E.A.) – 5th in class (91,25 pts)
- Poganinka (El Omari – Pentra/ Poganin) – winner of the 7-9 year old mares class (92,06 pts, with a full set of points for movement)
- Emandilla (Om El Shahmaan – Espadrilla/ Monogramm) – 4th in the oldest mares class (91,5 pts)
In the class, Emandilla was joined by another star bred in Michałów, the majestic milky grey Wildona (Shanghai E.A. – Wilda/ Gazal Al Shaqab). The mare was purchased at last year’s auction by Hanaya Stud. Wildona was highly rated, receiving 92.75 points with three twenties for type and two for movement.
After the break, the long-awaited championships began. In the championships of the European edition of the Prague European Cup, Michałów horses won the following medals:
- PARTES (Dominic M – Protekcja/Ekstern) winner of the Yearling Bronze Champion Stallion title
- WILDONARA (Paris – Wildona/ Shanghai E.A.) winner of the Junior Silver Champion Mare title
- POGANINKA (El Omari – Pentra/ Poganin) – Best Movement – Female
The chestnut did not disappoint her fans this time either, she literally flew across the ring, scoring 5 x 20 for movement.
Polish breeders also received the Prague Nations Cup award.
It’s not every day that you see a dam, sire and their daughter at the same show. That was the case this time. Wildonara, winner of the title of European Cup Junior Bronze Champion Mare, is a daughter of the Janów stallion Paris (owned by Adam Ochman) and the mare Wildona (bred by Michałów, currently owned by Hanaya Stud).
Wildona, in the hands of Frank Spoenle, won two titles: Prague Intercup Senior Bronze Champion Mare and Prague European Cup Senior Silver Champion Mare.
Paris (Kahil Al Shaqab – Palmeta/ Ecaho) presented by Paweł Kozikowski was chosen Intecup and European Cup Senior Silver Champion Stallion.
It was a very exciting show, despite the extremely high temperatures for the end of August (34 degrees Celsius), both Michałów horses and their handlers rose to the challenge and fought bravely for high marks and places in the classes.
The Michałów team deserves thanks for their commitment, and the fans for their loyal support and loud applause at the show.
The next phase for the horses and staff is in a month’s time. We will meet at the title show in Aachen.
