Złoty Medal Returns from Prague with Gold Medal

Last weekend, between 18th and 20th August 2023, another edition of Prague Intercup International Arabian Horse Show was held in Prague, the charming capital city of the Czech Republic. Since 2020, the show has taken place at the Velká Chuchle Racecourse on a quartz substrate prepared especially for equestrian shows and races.

A day before the show, the weather tried to thwart the organizers’ plans. The storm front which passed through Prague literally wiped the tents off the showground but thanks to hard work everything looked perfect again on Friday morning. The Prague Intercup Show rose like a Phoenix from the ashes to proudly greet all its guests.

For the first time this year, the show was held as an A-International category event as well as the European Cup for the horses bred in Europe.

After the show, Michałow Stud can boast about some very good results. All the Michalow representatives placed in the top five of their classes and in the Sunday finals they won three medals in the EuroCup championships (1x gold, 1x silver and 1x bronze) as well as one silver medal in Prague Intercup.

On Saturday, the bay Protesta (AJ Azzam – Parmania/ Kahil Al Shaqab) placed third in the yearling fillies’ class which further led to her winning a silver medal in European Cup on Sunday.

Złota Aura (Morion – Zlotna/ El Omari) was fourth in the two-year-old fillies’ class.

On Sunday morning, the senior mares’ and stallions’ classes took place. Our three representatives Wildanova (WH Justice – Wilda/ Gazal Al Shaqab), Parantella (Kahil Al Shaqab – Palanga/ Ekstern) and Parmania (Kahil Al Shaqab – Parmana/ Al Maraam) qualified for the afternoon championships.

In the European Cup Championships, Parantella became bronze medallist as well as the best moving mare of the show.

Złoty Medal (QR Marc – Złota Orda/ Pesal), the only male representative coming from the stables of Michalow, showed his best side as usual. For his presentation, the stallion received 92.05 points from the judges, including two 20’s for movement, which gave him first place in his class as well as the qualification for the championships. A few hours after his first presentation, Złoty Medal had no equal in the European Cup Championships and he was chosen the gold medallist. In the International Championships, he was only defeated by the five-year-old D Nayel (FA EL Rasheem  – D Nawal/ Royal Colours) from Dubai and he finished the competition with the silver.

What is more, Michalow Stud returns from Prague with the Best European Breeder title.

We sincerely thank the whole team for their hard work put into preparing the horses and we also thank our supporters for cheering on our horses as usual.
