National Support Center for Agriculture Cup for Porto Rico

The third racing day at the Hippodrome in Sopot attracted a large group of racing enthusiasts. The trainers from Wrocław decided to enter two horses from Michałów Stud in the Saturday races. Trainer Robert Świątek entered the bay colt Porto Rico (Złoty Medal – Parmania/ Kahil Al Shaqab), while Wiesław Kryszyłowicz chose the colt Epicurus (Ganges – Ellissima/ Albedo). Both horses took part in the race for the National Support Center for Agriculture Cup, which is assigned to 3-year-old Arabian horses of the 2nd group (special).

This race belonged to Porto Rico from the very beginning!

Quoting the online racing portal, here is a coverage of the race: “However, the duo from Janów Podlaski did not run another race on their terms, this time the son of Złoty Medal, bred at Michałów, was better. Sanzhar Abaev took the lead and Porto Rico controlled the pace in the fifth race. Next to him was Pierantonio under Bolot Kalysbek, and behind them the less well-disposed today Alex. The leading pair gained at the turn and had a lead of about seven lengths over the rest of the field. The fight for victory started already in the turn, which favored Porto Rico, who was more on the inside. At the beginning of the finish, Abaev had a lengths advantage over Kalysbek. Pierantonio, under the vice-leader of the riders championship, tried to threaten the current number one, but he failed and trainer Robert Świątek could enjoy the victory.”

The colt Epicurus finished fifth in the money.

On July 16th, Złota Ważka (Muranas Jassehr – Złota Wstęga by Empire), trained by Małgorzata Kryszyłowicz, took to the field. The filly finished the race in third place.

Unfortunately, Echeveria, who was entered for the race and heavily counted, was released from the starter’s disposal due to an injury, which was the result of a very long wait in the machine for another horse to be loaded.

We would like to thank everyone for their hard work, which translated into the success of our horses at the Sopot Hippodrome!
